GP Earnings

The latest year for which we have figures available is 2017-2018. During this year there were changes in the practice. In March 2017 we employed a new, full-time salaried GP, who then became a partner in September 2017.

For the year 2017-2018 the average income for three doctors (one full-time, salaried for 6 months, and then a partner, and two part-time) was £56,928 before tax and National Insurance.

The prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice, and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other practice.
